The 4 Emerging Trendsetters Performing at Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw 2019

Tyler, the Creator’s genius music carnival is back for its annual glory in California with big acts like BROCKHAMPTON and YG. But, everyone should get to know the emerging artists performing at this year’s festival.

Here is my list of 4 artists on the come-up that you must watch at Camp Flog Gnaw 2019.

DAISY

Pucker those lips! Los Angelesbased R&B punk band DAISY say that they make music for smoochin’ sessions. Lead singer Daisy has soulful vocals which caress the banging drums and riveting guitar strumming found in the band’s discography. They have released two EPs “Smoke About it” in 2016 and “HAVE A SNACK” in 2018, followed by their 2019 single “Day Off.” They were also featured in Steve Lacy’s song “Like Me” off his latest album Apollo XXI.

Juto

Juto’s effortless combo of jittery R&B and romantic pop makes you crave silk sheets to snuggle with. His distinctive sound of angsty guitar picking and haunting vocals has allowed him to sign onto former Odd Future member Taco’s Re7ax Records. Juto has released his newest project Velvet, along with his feature in “Can I Kick It” on Logic’s 2019 rap album Supermarket (Soundtrack).

Tommy Genesis

Canadian rapper Tommy Genesis, whose real name is Genesis Yasmine Mohanraj, has created a self-coined genre of “fetish rap.” Before committing to her experimental hip-hop, Tommy was famous for the Calvin Klein Fall 2016 modeling campaign she had done. Now, her sensual bars and intoxicating trap beats entice those who dare to listen. Her two albums include Tommy Genesis from 2018 and World Vision from 2015.

Choker

Choker’s stripped-back funky R&B hymns and peculiar musical arrangements provide a sense of intimacy like no other. While still living in Detroit, he created his first LP Peak in 2017 and then Honeybloom a year before moving to Los Angeles in 2019. Now, Choker has released his EP trilogy of stimulating soundscapes in 2019: “Forever & A Few,” “Dog Candy,” and “Mono No Moto.”
